Kidney Infection?

I was diagnosed the other day with a UTI. The Dr prescribed a 100mg antibiotic twice a day. Today there is a horrible pain in the right side under my rib, pelvic area, and on my side/back so I think it may have spread to my kidneys. This is my first time experiencing a UTI... any one with experience, would you recommend going to an urgent care since my Dr doesn’t open until Monday... or waiting out the antibiotics and see if it gets better? Or am I okay to wait until Monday to call the Dr? Just not sure how serious this can be.

I had a kidney infection from a uti. I apparently had a uti but had no symptoms until the infection spread to my kidneys. You would know for sure if it were a kidney infection. I had a really high fever to the point of delirium. I couldn’t stop shivering and shaking violently. I had a horrendous pain only on my back on one side. Antibiotics cure both. If you feel you need fluids and an IV antibiotic and urgent care then go otherwise you should give the medication a couple days to work it’s magic. Feel better

I would go to the dr. ASAP. I’m prone to kidney and uti and if it gets worse then you need to get it checked right away... no waiting for that cause it could get worse really fast

Go to urgent care asap. I once had a UTI that I got antibiotics for, only the antibiotics didn’t work and the infection spread to my kidneys. It actually stopped hurting but I got a massive fever and was projectile vomiting. It was so bad I actually started going into sepsis and had to be hospitalized. They ended up having to give me a much, much stronger antibiotic that worked through a different mechanism. The whole experience actually makes me wonder how many women died from UTI’s in the past before the availability if diverse antibiotics.
