Cesareans are REAL births and SAVE LIVES.

Without violating HIPAA, let me tell you an educational story. Parents are under a lot of pressure to have a "natural birth". You know, that way with as little medical intervention as possible that has killed untold amounts of people and neonates for thousands of years. And I'm not saying that things still can't go wrong with modern medicine. I'm not at all saying everyone will have the perfect labor and baby, but most will go perfectly fine with modern medicine. With that you can even still be at home, in a speciality birthing clinic, or outside in a tent while a hippy bangs on some drums! It's 2018, a wonderful time for "portable" medical help!

However, back to the point, we seem to have this idea in our heads as a culture that c-sections are not "real births" or that people who have them are not "real parents"...why? why is this a thing? why the actual FUCK are we pressuring people to avoid a often necessary and LIFESAVING proceedure? Case and point: a woman refused a emergency c-section to save her baby. REFUSED IT. REGARDLESS OF STAFF EDUCATING HER AS TO WHY IT WAS NECESSARY...

why? Well because she could do it. She didn't need to be cut open. She was convinced her birth was going to be "natural". Meanwhile the baby is trapped and in distress and we can't just force her to do it. You know what happened? The baby came out with a severe brain injury and brain bleed. This was a completely normal fetus before this event. This one was recent but this whole bullshit about natural birth isn't new. 2000's, woman comes in with gential herpes. Not uncommon, not bashing those with it, but this woman was having a flair up and her toosh was covered with it. Cesarean is recommended, but this woman has it in her head that she won't be a real mom unless she has the baby vaginally without pain meds.

Guys there is not shit wrong with making your own educated choices about your birth, in fact personally I love when patients have their own opinions about what they want. You guys rock, thank you for interest in your own health and not blindly following providers opinion. Sometimes that's necessary obviously, but with something that's planned in advance like a birth you have time to become educated. This girl had I guess spent more time listening to judgy morons on fb than legitimate information. The baby comes out fine and within hours in covered head to all his little toes in herpes. All he would do was scream probably from the sores, many around his eyes, he developed ARDS and he passed away. The mom was devistated and I'm sure learned a hard lesson that no one deserves to face. Someone had essentially bullied her into something she must have known would end badly. Unfortunately, you know she wasn't the last and neither will the other lady I'm sure. It's becoming a problem people! Don't bully people into your idiotic views that only vaginal deliveries "count", and that is exactly what you're doing! Because some poor person will believe you, and it's not just moms dads fall for it too, and then some birth that should have went normally could end up being a loss. You should be ashamed of your sick self. I'm sorry, but every time I see some bullshit online about natural birth being the only good kind I remember a tiny red screaming baby covered in nasty sores. Maybe after you read this, you'll think abouut him too before you open your mouth. This isn't funny. You aren't better for having a vaginal birth with no epidural and your dula you pay 2 grand a fucking day. That's not what makes you a good mom but feeding people horseshit about it doing to can unknowingly redden your hands with blood. Don't like this post? report it. But you know I'm right. Now I have to get ready for bed because I have another round of this crap tomorrow.
