Stay at Home Dad

Bradley

My wife (Married on May 4th) is 36+3 today and our son will more than likely be induced as he’s already in the 98th percentile for growth. She is a disability support worker and I work for a local hardware store dealing with all the tradies and have been supposedly on track for management training with the company and climbing the ladder, though that has stagnated over the last 2 years.

I have been looking around for another job as I am more than a little unhappy in my job now and for the longest time I have always wanted a career job that I could do for 10/15/20 years, but I am tossing up the idea of being a stay at home dad and letting my wife go back to caring as she enjoys it and earns more than I do but there isn’t security in it like my job.

Not really sure what to do, I have something I can do while looking after our son that should be able to bring some form of money in while my wife goes back to work but I am unsure if I should take the risk of leaving my job.

Has anyone experienced this or would anyone have any advice?
