Positive MIL 1st Meeting Stories?

I'm nervous about meeting my future MIL. I'm afraid she'll hate me or hate that it took so long to meet me etc. Wondering if anyone has any stories about meeting your MIL for the first time that turned out way better than you expected?

I don't recall the first time specifically. But my best advice for meeting parents is just be super polite. Address them as Mr/Mrs, say please and thank them for everything, watch your language, etc. If you're eating at her home offer to do the dishes. Parents eat that shit up. Oh and obviously speak well of your SO, they love to hear how great their kid is.

My parents used to work with my fiance's dad and uncle. They got together every weekend to play poker, rotating who's house hosted. We were 13 at the time. This is how I met him and his family. Now we're both about to be 28 and have our beautiful rainbow baby. Since I met them when we were so young and our families have been best friends for ages... they already treat us both like family. We have had our fights, just like any family, but they know darn well if they need us, we will drop everything to be there for them. We didn't date at 13 though and never knew they'd be my in laws :D They say they knew though. They all had bets on how long it would take for us to end up together. His parents were completely overjoyed when it finally happened. My dad.. not so much. He never wanted me to date his friends son. Worried it would cause issues with the friendship. But he loves my fiance so freaking much. They used to work together about last year or so. Total bromance those two.
