Uterine septum removal?

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half. To make a long story short, we found out I have a uterine septum that extends from the top of my uterus to my cervix that I need to have surgically removed. 
Has anyone had this done and conceived afterwards? Was it a long recovery?

Generally it takes two - three months.  Ask to have estrogen after your hysteroscopic surgery to facilitate healing.  Some surgeons do a second hysteroscopy to make sure there's no scaring before you get the green light to conceive.

I was scheduled to do an IUI in October, but had to postpone it because during one of my tests he saw that I had several polyps and septum lining. I had the surgery to remove the polyps and septum lining. Recovery wasn’t bad at all, I never had any pain and didn’t have to take any ibuprofen. My period weren’t as bad after either, typically I’m cramped badly and had heavy bleeding but I feel like the surgery helped relieve all of that.  They scheduled my surgery for October and we couldn’t try and conceive or continue the IUI process until March. We did our first IUI in March but it failed. My doctor and nurses prepared me and told me that it doesn’t work the first round for most women. We will try our second IUI this month. Hope your surgery goes well! 
(I did have to have a follow up ultrasound after my surgery and I haven’t had any new polyps form or any new septum lining).

I have not but my best friend did. She had to have two surgeries (her first doctor was crappy and didn’t get it all) , but then it only took less than six months for her to conceive naturally. Good luck!!
