What is your career?

i’m in high school and still figuring out what I want to go to college for. I was thinking of dermatology but I wouldnt get out of college until im 30! I do want to make a good amount of money though. 
If you are comfortable with it, list your job or an idea and the salary or I can look it up! it doesnt matter! Any help would be appreciated

I'm a vet and currently working on my residency to become a surgeon (similar time line as someone who gets their MD and specialises). Its a ton of work and will take a long time (and money) to get where I need want to be. But, it's so worth it. Ill make about a third of what my human equivalent makes, but it's still decent money and honestly if you go into the medical profession for money you're doing it for the wrong reasons. Pick the job you love and a career you'll enjoy. Making money is important, but if it's all about making money you'll end up hating your life because getting into medical school, medical school, residency and your actual career will take everything you've got and then some. If it's a passion it's worth every minute though!

I’m studying youth work and will go on to study counselling. I want to be a youth counsellor. The pay is probably shit. Community services never pay well.

If you really want to be a dermatologist, I think you should! If you just think it would be a good way to make a lot of money, you might consider some other careers. 
My sister is a pharmacist and she makes giant piles of money with a five-year degree. My other sister’s husband just graduated pharmacy school, and his starting salary was over $100k. 
My husband is an electrical engineer, and he makes great money with a four-year degree. 
My BFF’s husband is a computer programmer, with a high school degree and a felony record, and he makes somewhere around $80k.

I’d say go for Dermatology, but medical estheticians May interest you. I’m a massage therapist and love it but I’d go back for esthetics any day

If you want good amount of money, it’s going to take hard work! If you want to become a dermatologist then do it! Even if it’s going to take you some time, in the end it will be worth it!
