Kaiser in the DMV?

Does anyone have Kaiser Insurance in the DMV area? I just had my first prenatal appointment last Friday (Springfield office) and was disappointed. They asked if I wanted all these tests that I had to decide right then if I wanted - didn’t explain what my coverage covered and what would be out of pocket, and the ultrasound picture they gave me looks like I just went on the internet and printed one myself!! There are two pictures on one piece of computer paper even though the Dr printed like 10 from the ultrasound machine. I was really expecting to get to take those home with me but the snarky nurse looked at me like I was nuts for thinking I would get to take the originals. Anyone else experience this??

I do. I’ve been having to utilize Kaiser a lot in the last several weeks for various reasons and there are so many good things and so many bad things about it. Biggest thing, Springfield location SUCKS. It’s the worst facility with awful care. They treat everyone there like you’re on Medicaid and it’s just crap (not that anyone on Medicaid should be treated crappy). So, I’ve kept my gyno at Fair Oaks location because she’s awesome and plan to have my ob there as well.

I had Kaiser before and it wasn’t until I switched to my new insurance that I realized how horrible kaiser permanent is- I thought they weren’t that good when I had them, but lord, never again and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. 
The only good thing they had was my gynecologist- but I could tell how limited he was. I could tell he wasn’t allowed to do many things, this doctor would call from his house to check on you and to tell you things he couldn’t tell you when he called from the office number. ( never disrespectful or anything) so sad
Even the receptionist try to help with some stuff- one time I had a really bad pain and mention to her that I had a car accident some 5 years ago, and she told me not to mention it because they wouldn’t want to provide the care for that. SMH 🤦🏾‍♀️

My husband has it and he doesn’t like it. I would switch now that its open enrollment if you can. I currently have Cigna but with my last employer I had Care First Blue Cross Blue Shield and I liked that better. Trying to see if I can switch back. I also have a friend who had a lot of trouble TTC and surprisingly the blue cross HMO covered more infertility treatments than the PPO. It’s all so confusing but worth doing the research since you can only switch 1x a year

I have Kaiser and use the DC locations. I had an amazing surgery experience (kind friendly knowledgeable empathetic) at largo Md. I like my gYN but she’s young and for my endometriosis they just want to put me on drugs instead of excision. I like the facility everyone is very nice and I get in and out quickly for the most part. I appreciated when my doctor went to operate on a cyst I had but bc of the advance stage of endometriosis I had she didn’t feel confident (it involves several other organs) and just closed me up and is now consulting. I spent about an hour on the phone with benefits person to clarify what Kaiser covered in regards to Shady grove and feel I have a good idea of what they do/ don’t cover.

I have kaiser and love it. I go to the Woodlawn location and have no complaints. They are so nice, helpful and patient there. Even the Halethorpe location is great.
