My parents said I’d never make it in life...

I was adopted into an abusive home when I was thirteen. They wouldn’t feed us kids and made us get up before everyone else to clean their house. Our bedtime was six o’clock in the evening, even when I was fifteen. That’s when I ran away from home. The younger kids got taken by children’s aid.

My parents told me I was ugly and that I’d never make it in life but they were wrong. I have a steady job, an absolute amazing boyfriend, a nice apartment, and I’m getting better at things like makeup and art, which are things I truly love.

Don’t let your past define you, ladies. Know your worth 😘
