What will happen

Clearly I have a warrant out, but I don’t plan on turning myself in. It’s for simple assault. The charges are false. What will happen? Will the warrant go away & will it be on my record? I’m getting so many different answers. & I’ve never been in any trouble.

Lol no the warrant will not go away. If you get pulled over for a tail light in 20 years the warrant will still be there and they’ll arrest you right there.

It won’t go away until you deal with it. If a police officer runs your name for any reason you’ll be arrested on the spot, probably with additional charges. Hire a lawyer and deal with it now.

The warrant stays, you go to jail and look even worse for not turning yourself in. Just turn yourself in, and take it to trial. Not turning yourself in, is literally the stupidest thing you could do.

I work for an attorney. You need to turn yourself in. This can’t be avoided and in all honesty, it makes you look worse even though you’re innocent, as you’ve stated. Perhaps seek legal counsel before turning yourself in, so you have representation if you know you won’t qualify for a public defender. Regardless, this is something you must face now rather than later. A warrant won’t go away just like that.

Even if the accusations are false, by hiding away from a warrant you’re going to instantly make yourself look guilty. If you are sure that they are false then hire a lawyer to help you deal with this appropriately. It’s very hard to hide away from a warrant because you can get pulled over for just about anything that raises suspicion like tint or a headlight out, even if you’re a good driver otherwise. And when they pull you over and find out that there’s a warrant out for your arrest many times they’re going to treat you like the biggest piece of shit if I’m being honest, you’ll be way better off turning yourself in, which will help you with saying that they are false as well. Hiding away comes off as an admission of guilt.

The warrant will not go away until you face the charge. If you get pulled over and they run your license - you’ll be arrested and face it then. Probably have an extra charge for not going to court for it when you should have. Get a lawyer and fix this or you’ll regret it plain and simple.

I have a warrant for accidentally missing a court date for a debt after I was homeless.
Just speak to legal aid and speak to the officer and agree to go to the court date
And most likely you'll be free until the court date
The officer came to my door and was happy that I would attend court at the next date and just left his card

It will never just go away and it will effect your life negatively if you do not turn yourself in and deal with the charge. Anytime you are stopped by police for anything they will all know you have a warrant and arrest you. You won't be able to renew your vehicle registration or drivers license etc. Any background check for a job will show it etc. If it's a false charge, why not just get a lawyer and deal with it?
