Idk I just feel like I'm already nice but I have to be REALLY nice to show I'm nice an asshole like some other people. Like I work at the hospital and when I go in the room I gotta smile and make sure everything is fine, if we accidentally touch IT'S FINE. Like I'm like that in every room, but its extra in theirs. Its sad it had to be like that.

At first thought, I didn't think I did this. But I can recall situations where I got on a subway full of (almost all) White-appearing people. There was one seat left next to the one Black guy on the train, but many people still chose to stand. Like, a lot. I could almost feel the man's discomfort but also, I enjoy sitting so I went there and sat next to him. Tbh, had it been any other situation I would have never thought to do that... but because everyone else was making it so painstakingly obvious they didn't want to sit next to him, the one black guy, I felt like I had to compensate for them. I'm not White (or Black) myself, but I am White-passing to many people.

I believe everyone should be treated the same no matter your beliefs or ethnicity, I’ve actually lived in the Middle East and they’re just as diverse in their etiquette as any other place, it just all depends on how they treat me

Ummm no...if you just treated people with respect and compassion then you would have to overcompensate or feel that way. People can feel when you are being overly nice and often times it just makes you seem disingenuous.

No. I try to just generally be nice to anyone and everyone. You shouldn’t have to be “extra nice” to someone you should just be nice to everyone and even if you are “extra nice” that shouldn’t be a bad thing. 🙄

I think its merely saying are you nicer to them because other people aren't, not because of their religion. Like a kid getting bullied in school, would you go out of your way to be nicer because you know other people aren't
