Need advice move in or not?

I’ve been with my bf for over two years. I just recently got into some financial issues with my student loans. Since we’ve been together this long I brought up the top of moving in with one another. I’m basically at his house every night anyways and I’m tired of living out of my duffle bag.

I’m not asking him to take on my financial burden however it would help me out a lot moving in. He is hesitant and made comments like if you move in then this is it like it’s such a bad thing. (I’m 32 and he’s 35) am I being selfish for wanting this? Because it will benefit me and be more convenient? And is it a red flag that he’s basically not into it?

I’ve never lived with someone nor been in this situation. If anyone has advice I’d appreciate it.
