Hard time pooping?

My newborn is a week and 3 days, and he seems to have a hard time pooping. He pushes, and then cries. the doctor told me not to worry about constipation until he hasn't went poop in 3 days. But he went yesterday. But I was wondering if there was anything I could do to maybe help him poop? The bicycle leg thing hasn't helped..

If he doesn’t poop for awhile, you can do a qtip with Vaseline. I know it sounds terrible, but we’ve done it with both our babies and it instantly helps them get it all out and they’re much happier after 😂

Is he breastfed? My baby girl when she was little, now she’s six months but she used to have to worst gas. I would do cycles and stretch her body out for like half an hour. She is only breastfed and she has had many time where she doesn’t poop for four days. Even times when she doesn’t poop for a whole week. But she is fine, happy, and healthy. Now she poops every two days
