REALLY? YOU TOLD EVERYONE?!

Ok so I hope I’m not out of line but I am so upset and hormonal I am trying not to cry. 
We told our families about this pregnancy and said we weren’t announcing it officially and telling immediate family members. My sister in law literally just has surgery for a molar pregnancy two weeks ago and we decided to let the dust settle with her personal traumas and support her and wait until our first ultrasound before making the big announcement. 
My damn father in law ran around and told EVERYONE. EVERYONE. including my sister in law as she’s suffering through a horrible pregnancy related issue. 
I’m so mad that he didn’t listen to our request to not tell anyone and told people. I feel like he stole my thunder. I’m most upset he told my sister in law this soon after her experience, like a punch to her throat. She’s happy, but I can’t imagine that twinge of pain she felt. 
Am I being hormonal?? Now everyone knows and we haven’t had a chance to tell anyone besides my damn father in law. 🤬

No your anger is justified. You were being very kind to let her get through that and it’s not on you that it happened. My mom did the same to me I ended up announcing at 6 weeks I’m now just shy of 8 weeks. Congrats mama!

This was literally my face reading your post... I am so sorry for everyone negatively impacted here... I hope your father in law realizes that was not his news to share and perhaps apologizes. Thankfully my family is nurses and councillors so I know they will respect the whole "Please don't say anything until after my second ultrasound in July"

To make matters worse a friend yelled today to my class (I’m a coach) YOU ARE PREGNANT! Jesus people!!! Lesson learned, don’t tell anyone 🖕🏼

I think u have every right to be pissed off
1: it’s ur news to share (not his) to who and when YOU decide
2: u were being incredibly sensitive to ur sister in laws situation, and he hasn’t thought of that (and that’s his own daughter)
The damage is done now, maybe u can just explain how upset this has made u (and that’s not hormone related).
He was just very excited about ur news and him becoming a grandfather that he didn’t stop to think about points 1 and 2. Lesson learned, maybe share a bit less with him in the future xxxx

You're so right to be mad! I told my mom and asked her not to tell anyone,  she told all her side of the family immediately! Not the same as you with someone going through a pregnancy related issue but i was still so mad. I wanted to tell everyone when I wanted to! It's my big news to share and nobody else's ( Well except my bf)! Sorry that happened to you!
