Is this racist/offensive?

So this sounds stupid but I have a smallish following on musically (please don’t judge). You can ask questions and then the person you asked can post a video answering them. Someone asked if I liked tacos, it was clearly a joke but I actually don’t like any Mexican food. I said that and also told a story about a friend of mine who is Mexican and her family mainly ate traditional Mexican food. I don’t like Mexican food so I just explained how awkward it was to go to family parties where I wouldn’t eat any of the food. I posted it a some people said they tacos or Mexican food but others... well didn’t take it so nicely. A bunch of people started saying that what I said was extremely offensive to them because they’re Mexican. Some people were just joking and I was fine with that but now I’m being called a racist. I’m white and I personally don’t think not liking Mexican food isn’t offensive, I just don’t like it. But clearly others think differently. I feel really bad and I’m starting to question myself which I know sounds dumb but that’s what’s happening. Help
