baby’s head grew from 30cm at birth to 37cm 6 weeks later is this normal? head looks a bit big

My kids have enormous heads.  We were discussing head size at one appointment and I pointed out that Big brother’s head was also large and the ped said - “If you aren’t concerned, then I am not either”...I didn’t like that very much.  I’m not the doctor.
My kids did pick a percentile and stick to it, and that is what is important with the measurements.  If there is a significant percentile gain/loss, then there may be an issue.  One condition they are watching for is hydrocephalus - or water on the brain - which can make the head very large.  A lot of people assume big head = big brain, but that is not the point of taking measurements at all.

My sons head grew from 33 to 39 in six weeks. Docs have no concerns, he is hitting all milestones and is impressing them with how well he can hold his big head up. He is now 19 weeks.

It can be concerning but what did your doctor say? A friend of mine just went though this and had to do extra testing for her baby. I think they did an ultrasound of her head? Everything turned out to be normal. She just has a larger head than other babies her age.
