December baby 17’
My due date was November 27th 2017, but my little princess was stubborn so I was scheduled to be induced December 5th, my boyfriend and I packed the bags and headed for the hospital at 6pm, after arriving we waited 30 minutes or so before we we’re taken to our room where they inserted the Cervidil or whatever it’s called, they let that sit over night for 12 hours, when morning came, they let me eat breakfast before they checked me and started the pitocin after a few hours I only dialed to about 4 1/2 cm I wanted to try and go epidural free, mostly because it terrified me to get one. I busted the iv in my first arm so they had to place another in my other arm, and after they checked me again and I hadn’t progressed my boyfriend convinced me to get the epidural so maybe I would relax because a c-section was an even bigger fear than the epidural. They came in for the epidural and the nurses had to hold my hands because I was so scared. After that I relaxed and fell asleep, upon waking up the nurses decided to break my water & roll me to get baby in better position in doing so they realized the epidural fell out, so they came back in to redo it. They checked me again and I was at like 61/2 7 they had to slow the pitocin because my contractions were to strong and close together .Fast forward to like 8pm & many many position changes, they sat me straight up, my mom and dad where in the room (moms the real mvp for sneaking me apple juice, even tho it made me throw up) and my boyfriend was sleeping on the floor, and I told my mom that I felt the contractions again and so they called the nurses come check the epidural to which 3 different nurses said it was fine, until I was in tears because the contractions came back full force. So they called the nurses back in and I was right it had fallen out again even with all the extra tape. They came back in to re-do it. again. & in the process the 3rd epidural didn’t flush right so they gave me a spinal block or something like that because my contractions were so strong I couldn’t sit still and while sitting up they put the fourth and final epidural in. But the spinal made me so numb I couldn’t even wiggle my feet. After they checked me I was at a 9 but my body was stalling and when the doctors changed shifts the doctor on call checked me and was trying to push for a c-section because a dime size of my Cervix wasn’t flattening , even tho me and baby were okay and I was at a solid 9. But thank god she got called into a csection and the doctor previously on call let me do position changes and when he came back I was fully dialed and ready to go, my dad had to help hold my back up because I was in a bad position for pushing and I was so numb I couldn’t do it alone, my boyfriend was holding my leg and watched the entire thing while my mom took a video (I asked for pictures) after a few pushes the doctor decided to cut me because if he didn’t I would tear, I pushed for maybe 15 minutes it felt like before my Daughter Novalynn Paisley was born at 11:56 am December 7th 2017 8.8lbs & 21in

and she freaked me out because she was purple and she didn’t make a sound and honestly looks lifeless when the doctor handed her to me, but a few sucks to the mouth and nose and she was crying. That first cry is really a sign of relief, my boyfriend cut the cord, and while the doctor gave me my stitches I got skin to skin time. After I was cleaned up they took us downstairs, which is where the real shit show happened. Long story short I had very very low iron& I passed a blood clot bigger than a softball, so they decided to do a blood transfusion and the nurses said my iv wouldn’t work for so they tried sticking me over 15 items in each of my arms/hands and every vein busted/collapsed so they called another guy in to which he asked why the weren’t using my iv, when it was the right size all along so they hooked the bag up to my iv which only worked for about 15 minutes before it became painful and busted, so they called the pick team so they could find a good vein that maybe wasn’t visible and even after all that I only got half a bag of blood. So I was really out of it the entire time which sucks because I didn’t get to spend as much one on one time as I’d have liked to . She’s six months old now but I never felt like writing my story.
