So I had my anatomy scan done today at 19 weeks and 4 days. I thought everything was going great my ultrasound tech was amazing and never made it seem like she saw something worrisome(I know that even if she did she couldn’t tell me) her vibes were just very positive so I didn’t even think I would hear scary news when I talked to the nurse about the scans. I was told a tiny cyst was found in the brain and the heart and she said “no need to freak out these usually resolve themselves by 28 weeks” she told me that it is a “soft marker” for Down syndrome though and that she was going to refer me to a high risk pregnancy office to be further seen. How am I not suppose to freak out? All my labs prior to the anatomy scan came back normal and the 11-13 week ultrasound they do to check for certain things also came back great too. Has anyone ever gone through anything like this and had it resolve itself? Or did it actually turn out to be chromosome abnormality?
