Gender reveal causing drama 🤬

We are having our gender reveal next month and I just sent out invitations a couple of days ago.

They are so cute, all decked out in our theme. I looked at tons of different templates and different gender reveal invitations. Girls, I spent hours on these invitations. Lol.

Anyway, I saw a super cute idea about having people bring a book for the baby signed by whoever brought it with a little note, that way the baby can have that to look at when they are older. After much debate and discussion with my mom, I decided to add that to my invitations. After all, we are only inviting family not friends. Family shouldn’t have an issue with that right?

Low and behold... some invitations were received today and so far not one, but TWO people from my fiancé’s side of the family had something about having to bring a book to the gender reveal. He got the dreaded texts...

“Why do we have to bring a book?”

“Isn’t that for the baby shower, why should I bring one for the reveal?”

I guess my hormones are raging, because I have never felt so angry about something ever. Yup, I’m being over dramatic! If you don’t want to bring a damn book, don’t bring one! I really don’t care! But guess what, now I do because you were being so petty that you had to say something. I’m furious. And to top it off, no one cared how cute the invitations were.

*its our first baby and the first grandchild of both of our families

I guess I’m just irritated at the fact that 1. It’s my finances family making a big deal of it. I feel like it’s a little personal stab because they texted my fiancé asking why I would do that. Instead of just asking me. And 2. they really have the nerve to bring it up. It doesn’t even have to be a book. Just write a note for all I care. Or don’t and the baby will just have lots of notes from my side of the family 🤷🏼‍♀️
