Has your kid ever fought an ear infection without antibiotics?

This is my toddler’s 4th ear infection in 8 months and I don’t want to keep giving him
antibiotics. Have any of your kids ever fought them off without antibiotics? How long did it take? I’ve been managing his fever with ibuprofen and when his fever is down he is in good spirits and doesn’t seem like he’s in pain. I will take him to the doctor Mon if he still has a fever, but I just wanted to hear some input from moms.

I would take them in. Could make there ear drum rupture. They do have a shot they can do to get rid of the ear infection

Its take awhile for them to clear up on their own, and it can cause the ear drum to burst so be careful. I would consider tubes if hes had that many.

Actually my doctor admitted that antibiotics are not normally prescribed for ear infections unless it's very very bad and even then it's not to treat the ear infection but to prevent a secondary infection. our LO usually fights her ear infections without antibiotics. we give her paracetamol or a stronger painkiller at night. we do take her in to get her checked out just in case it's not serious though.

Not my child but myself. I had constant ear infections for a year, all the doctors did was give the same exact antibiotic (I'm allergic to amoxicillin) and it never helped. The body builds up resistance to antibiotics so after using the same ones a million times they won't really work. I used essential oil for pain, slept when I could, drank lots of water, and looked up home remedies. Eventually I had to get my tonsils out because I kept getting so sick with no end in sight. I think as long as you can manage the symptoms and do some safe home remedies, it can be helped without antibiotics. I still don't know why I kept getting sick, but I think my immune system isn't right lmao hopefully your baby doesn't keep getting sick

did they ever diagnose the cause of the infection? ex. the bacteria that keeps causing it? it could be a strong one that isn't fully clearing up each time with the antibiotics they are giving him which is causing the reaccurance.
