cat litter

so im newly pregnant, im 5 weeks today (thats what this app says) and im 17. my sister knows thay im pregnant but my parents do not. i have a cat that stays in my room with me, so does the litter box. i was told i cant clean it but it desperately needs to be cleaned. ive asked my sister to help me out and she always says she'll do it later. she has a cat of her own and doesnt even clean her litter box when needed. our dad cleans hers. could i just clean it myself if i cover my face abd wear shoes and gloves ? i dont even know why im noy suppose to clean it. i just want to ask and see what everyone has to say before i do so. thank you
