Baby meeting?

When did everyone take there babies places to meet people my work is having a function next Friday and my baby will be 2 weeks old is that too soon to take her out?

We have taken our baby out since the day we left the hospital. We keep her covered and away from strangers. Her doctor had no concerns with it. She said we can’t be hermits and getting out is good. It’s honestly up to you and whether you are comfortable.

Our daughter has been going out since birth 🤷🏻‍♀️ no way in hell was I locking myself in a house for x months lol that's how you develop postpartum depression. As long as you're being smart and not passing your child around, everyone will be just fine. Live your life and go out!

I went out to a grocery store at 3 weeks because I had no choice. As long as people with germy hands aren't touching your LO it should be fine lol

I got suckered into taking my daughter to my SIL's baby sprinkler when she was a day shy of 2 weeks, mostly because the whole family was there. There was also another baby 4 weeks there. Normally I wouldn't really care, and I played helicopter mom to make sure everyone washed their hands, but my husbands cousin felt it was totally ok to let her daughter pretty much monopolize the baby without washing her hands and come to find out she was getting over being pretty sick. I regret taking her. My daughter, 15 month old son and myself ended up super sick. We had to have her checked for pneumonia before she was a month old. I had a "you can look but not touch" policy with my son outside of the home and I should have stuck with that for her. 🙈😩 Be careful if you do.

Our pediatrician recommended we don’t take our little guy out to public places (like restaurants or shopping malls) until he was 6 weeks (he was also born at 35 weeks). However, he did say we could take him anywhere where we knew everyone (like family events and such) where it is reasonable to tell people to wash their hands or to stay away from baby. We took our little one to church at 2 1/2 weeks, but we knew no one would touch him as long as we had him in his car seat or holding him.

We took our baby to a wedding at 4 weeks but I was pretty nervous about going anywhere that wasn’t the Dr at 2 weeks. I think it’s personal preference, I know people who went to stores with their LO the day left the hospital.

I didn’t really take LO out until at least 4 weeks. Just keep in mind everyone!!! Is going to want to grab & hold them. At home we were super strict about visitors washing hands , but it’s so much harder when you’re out & people were grabbing him & passing him around before I could even say Purell 😳.
