Rug burn on knees/legs from crawling?

Is anyone else dealing with this with their little ones? My daughter has gained some speed recently and is really burning her knees up. Her legs look horrible! I’m applying Burt’s bees ointment and keeping her in long pants from now on, but we live in Florida and it’s hard to stay cool. Anyone else have any quick fixes? I don’t think she would tolerate knee pads. I wish I would have gotten a pic before she went to bed to show what I mean.
