Monitoring your kid/s?

Question

Would you monitor your childs internet/phone privileges? I'm talking to the extent of putting a lock on the router allowing them to only see age appropriate content. (Basically permanent safe search). As well as knowing their social media logins and having their activities on the phone logged and sent to your phone or laptop. With the ease and quickness false, harmful information the internet and phones can dish out, would you consder this?

Age and certain app restrictions, yes. Their passwords and all activity sent to me? Hell no. If you really don't trust your kid that much don't let them get a phone. Constant tracking and reading through their messages is insane.

Most of this yes. I wouldn't want their activity logged and sent to me though, that would get very annoying for me. I would want to sent though if it picked up inappropriate content.

I'm 17 and I have moved out of my parents house and into an apartment with my boyfriend and our friend and cat. My mom used to do these things to me and it made me feel like she didn't trust me and super constricted, I hated it. Doing these things shows you want a death grip on your child, and, as you can see from the first sentence, all she did was push me away. Let them have freedom and trust until they have actually done something wrong, and even then, kids need to learn their own mistakes.
