Do you think it's fine to sell something that you got from someone for free?

If someone is giving away something they don't need or ever even used, I don't see the harm in making some sort of profit over it. (I'm not talking about taking from the government because that is coming from taxpayers. I'm talking about random people online just giving things away that they don't want or need simply because they don't need the money or they just want it out of their house immediately.)

Sometimes it's okay. Sometimes it's not. If they're trying to give it to a family in need, then you turn around and sell it. That's not okay. If you're begging for it because "you need it", that's not okay. If it's an animal, that's not okay. Otherwise there really isn't any harm in it. Can be kinda rude, but 🤷‍♂️

I use to go pick up furniture people would put out on the side of the road for curb pick up and refurbish it or repair it and resell it for cheap on Craigslist. 
A good example would be a wooden dresser where there’s drawers broken and it just looks really old or worn (not something someone would even want for free) I would fix up the tracks for the drawers and stain or paint the wood after it’s all clean and sanded and resell for 100$

If I'm giving something away that a person truly in need would be appreciative of than yes, I would be annoyed (clothes, or something for around the house). 
Buuut once I give it to you it's yours to do with what you like so it's not my place to say anything. I've seen discussions about this on the swap n buy groups 🤣 oh my....

people just giving away stuff yes if it's something someone gave you cause you were in need of something like that then no it's really wrong for you to sell it

i’m pretty sure I know a man on craigslist who makes his living on picking up peoples unwanted things? He offers free hauling service and then he takes all the things he collected and make some money off them
my mom gives me stuff all the time that she doesn’t want and she tells me to just sell it if I don’t want it.
and when someone gives something to you it belongs to you now so you can do whatever you want with it. But like the other poster said if they’re trying to give it to someone in need don’t step in in front of needy people
well if only i didn’t suck at selling things... i end up donating everything cuz i’m too shy to sell. which makes me mad cuz i rly need money rn :(
