Step mom advice?

I’m a step mom to an amazing little boy I consider my child, but I’m not sure what I can or can’t call him and his mother without offending anyone? I don’t like her but I still respectful as I can be that she’s his birth mom. I just feel like I’m his mom too. Can I say I’m his mom or do I have to use step mom for respect. Similar can I call her his birth mom or just mom? And finally can I call him my son or do I have to say step son? Help please

we have full custody of my "step" kids..i call them my son and daughter when i introduce them cause in my eyes they are my son and daughter that i picked kinda like adoption..ive been part of their lives since they were 1&2 and theyre turning 8&9 this yr..we asked them what they want to call me..they picked mom we call their birth mom their mother..id suggest ask him what he wants to call u that way if his birth mom gets offended be like its what he picked and its ok for him to have 2moms..

I️ feel like if the mom isn’t a deadbeat.. then I️ think it’s respectful to use step.. because I️ know how I️ would feel in a situation if my sons stepmother was going around calling my son hers. I️ would be extremely offended.. but that’s just me.. but if she doesn’t do jack for him and you do all of it for him then I️ think you have the right.

we have custody of my husband's 4 kids. and they now are 10,9,8,2. me and my hubby got together 1 1/2 ago the baby who is a girl the only girl was 10 mo when her mom dropped her off at my husband's job and told him he needed to take care of her. we got the boys like 2 mo later when her brother notified my husband that they hadn't seen her in weeks. so now the baby, I'm all she knows and she hears my kids call me mom so she does too and everyone thing I'm her mom. well I'm not her birth mom but I am her mother. The boys on the other hand know her so they just call me by my name, I'm ok with that. altho she has court order visitation with them she hasn't tried to see them since last yr in Nov. then she seen them for the day on Xmas. She hates the fact that the baby calls me mom. so I really just leave it up to the kids. and I call them my kids. my son or daughter. it is what it is.

Step mom, stepson and birth mom. If she's pretty she'd throw a fit for anything else, especially if you're a better mom than she is

I call mine my kids if I get a weird look I specify. I also just say her mom or by her name

I have the same predicament...I usually use "step," when she's not around.  If We're in public, I don't correct people that call her my daughter or me her mom, partly because I am a parent to her, and partly because there's no need to tell the world our business.  Sorry, I dont have an answer...just love him and do your best for him.
