Would you want to know? (Rape trigger?)

My sister was drugged and raped by a married couple who were friends. Because she was drugged, she blacked out. She only has flashes of memories of being in bed with both of them touching her, and woke up with bruises over her entire body, her vaginal area was worse than when I gave birth naturally. I tore. She did as well....                    While we were talking about the investigation (luckily there's A LOT of evidence on her side) I asked if they confessed and said everything that happened...Would she want to know. I'm not sure if I would want to know or not. Could it help you heal? Or do you think it would make the situation worse? She already has PTSD from a previous sexual assault too.                          Would you want to know, if you couldn't remember? Or do you think it's best not to know?

I think that will be a really hard decision. My first thought is that I would personally want to know. I feel like it would help me heal and help if I ever started to remember bits and pieces.  But this is not my situation and i have never been in it. I hope she can make the decision best for herself.

No. I was raped and it was the worst thing to ever happen to me. It traumatized me for a long time, and when that was pushed down, it only aided my insecurities.

I would not want to know. There are things that happened to me that I already wish I didn’t know. But I could understand why someone would want to know the extent of what happened to them.

Yes, I’d want to know. I was sexually abused as a young child (age 3), and though those memories are spotty, I still have them. At the very least, I’d want to know what kind of disgusting monster my rapist was, and I’d want to know how I was drugged so that I could identify safety issues like that beforehand if it ever happened again.

I was raped horrifically (mind you, no rape is not) whilst I was drunk. I still remember it all. The events leading up, everything he did to me, and what happened after it. I still get flashbacks over the most stupid things, with the most stupid probably being the feeling of my face on my pillow the other night. My PTSD is debilitating. I’d do anything in the world to forget the details, and I’d do even more to forget it happened at all. No one wants to remember being violated like that

I would not. I barely remember anything from my first rape because I was on drugs. I remember little bit here and there, but otherwise don't remember anything. I don't want to. I didn't remember my second rape until a few months ago when my ex triggered it. I have panic attacks when I have flashbacks. Definitely something I wish I could forget. My ex may have raped me so there may have been a third time. He talked about having done it, but he's a sick fuck so I don't know if he was lying. If he did, I don't remember and I'm grateful.
