Diva cup help?

Question

I’ve recently thought about switching from tampons to a diva cup, but I have never tried it & none of my friends or anyone I know really has used them. So I have a couple questions if anyone on here has some answers or experiences or just info in general about them, that’d be so helpful! 
I have super heavy periods, is this a product that would be okay for that? (& by heavy like soaking a super tampon in like 1.5-2h for like the first day - second day.)
How do you clean it if you’re in public?
Is it difficult to use? 
Is it uncomfortable?

My periods are almost always heavy and I’ve only overflowed maybe 3 times in over a year. It takes a lot to overflow. I don’t use the diva cup, though. I use the blossom cup off of amazon. They have different sizes and it’s more flexible (from what I’ve heard).

I used to have a super heavy period. The cup actually shortened and lightened my period. But yes the cup can work for a heavy flow. It can stay in for up to around 12 hours -ive gone longer since my flow is light. Ive never had to clean it in public because ill just empty it before i go out but if you needed to you can either wipe it clean with toilet paper or keep a water bottle in your purse and rinse it with that. It can be difficult at first but once you figure it out its super easy to use. And as long as the cup is in correctly you won’t feel it so its not uncomfortable.

I just started using one last month. I was just as heavy and you would be surprised how much they can hold. They can stay in for 12 hours at a time. I took out after 8 hours at first just to see how “full” it was and it was only 1/4 full surprisingly. If I had used tampons I would have gone through 3 of them by that time. It can take awhile to put it in when you’re new at it but I like it. I can’t feel it at all

I have a very heavy flow and I use the Me Luna cup (Similar sizing and style). In public you simply remove it, empty it and put it back in. I'd suggest buying a small pack of wet wipes to clean your hands if you get alot of blood of them and then wash your hands. When you get used to the cup, you'll learn how long it'll take to fill, so you can then know when to empty it without overflowing.

It can hold a lot. You’d be surprised how little you actually bleed. I rarely change it in public because you can have it in for so long.

If it’s inserted correctly, you can’t feel it. It takes a little practice to figure out insertion and removal, but you get the hang of it. 
For my heavy day, I empty my diva cup every 3-4 hours to avoid leaks. When the cups gets 3/4s full, I start to notice leaks. All other days of my period, I can wear it for 10-23 hours with no problem. I usually wear Dear Kate undies or a lunapad liner as a backup just in case. 
In public restrooms, I was my hands before entering the stall. Then in the stall, I remove the cup, empty it into the toilet, then reinsert, flush, wash hands and go about my day. Then when I’m in a private bathroom next, I remove the cup, empty and wash it as it normally would. I’ve been using my cup for nearly 10 years and never had a problem.
