Did you all feed your baby the cereal at 4 months?

I feel that’s so young ? How did your baby’s react ? I can’t do rice my dr said we need to do oatmeal cereal because he gets constipated. He’s 4.5 months now.

That IS young. Recent research has shown that 6 months should be the youngest for many reasons. The AAP and WHO both recommend starting at 6 months. 
I personally cringe when I see 4 month old babies LYING DOWN and being spoon fed. I feel like being able to sit up without support should be a requirement at the VERY least.

6 months is whats recommended, assuming your LO is ready then. My daughter wasn’t until 7/8 months. We also didn’t give her infant cereal/oatmeal as we and our pediatrician just were not comfortable with it.

I got the okay at 4 months to start solids and absolutely refused to start until 6 months. There are ZERO benefits to starting prior to that. Only risks. And my daughter's health wasn't worth risking. We also skipped cereals as they have no nutritional value at all. We started with baby led weaning at 6 months instead and had zero issues.

She has stomach issues and texture issues that her brother doesn't have (he started food at 7months) and I've always wondered if they're related.

Slowly introduce it and add a small amount to breast milk or formula. About a 1/3 of recommend amount. Just enough to thicken slightly, sometimes you might have to open the nipple a little more for flow. But my mom is a NICU nurse, I’m a pediatric LPN, and every child in my family/friends group has started solids before recommendation. There’s no studies below 6 mo of age because it’s not allowed, so not to say information is correct, its not fully informative. 
I was eating fried chicken legs at 6 months old 😂😂 28 and still kicking it with NO digestive issues of any kind.

I’m skipping oatmeal and rice meal. Not feeding anything but breast milk until 6 months as current recommendations state. Babies don’t have proper GI motility until 6 months as their digestive tract is still developing. The immune system begins in the small intestine (look up microbiome if interested) and introducing foods too early is linked to GI and immune disorders, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders.

Don't do either until 6 months. There's little nutritional value. If he's already constipated, don't add something to his formula.
