getting father's rights revoked???

my son's father has barely been around since he was born in February.. he says he wants to do better, but then doesn't actually do it... ive gotten "im sorry, he deserves better" MULTIPLE TIMES but he's never actually BEEN A BETTER FATHER.... he could care less about our son, meanwhile he's playing daddy to his new girlfriend's son.. he'll sit there and say he wants to see him, but never follow through with the plans.. instead, he'll completely ignore me.. the beginning of this month was going to be the start of him going to his dad's every other weekend and he hasn't taken him a single time... i read that they're unlikely to relinquish his rights because so many people try to just to get out of paying child support but i don't want someone just coming in and out of my son's life whenever they please...

below is another instance that happened.. he is supposed to be working 7-3 everyday and picking up his oldest son, who is 4, from daycare everyday. recently, he's been off work A LOT during the day.. and ive asked him if he was still working and he claims to be.. but in this message, he was supposed to get him and i asked if he could get him sooner because i was wanting to go into work earlier that day, and he told me he was "still at work" after the message before telling me that his son had his phone.. he works in a warehouse and kids arent even allowed in there..

UPDATE: i texted him one last time, trying to be nice, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, and he just doesnt care ☹️

I 100% understand the value of having your father around, but if this is what kind of father he’s going to be, keeping him around just because he fathered the child might not be good for your son in the long run. My biological father was on drugs my whole life, never paid a cent of child support, stole money from the savings account my mom set up for me before he left, abused me, and was generally in and out. I have PTSD from the abuse from the times he did appear and actually use his visits (he had supervised visits but his parents just turned a blind eye to his behavior). I honestly would’ve rather not known my father at all, but my mom was so worried about giving him chance after chance so I could have my dad around. Obviously that’s more severe than this situation, but it’s really just to say that sometimes the best decision is raising them on your own and one day someone will love yall the way y’all deserve. My step dad is basically my dad to me. Not all fathers are actually a positive factor and in this case I might respectfully reach out one more time and then seek terminating rights myself. Only you know the best decision for you and your son, but don’t force anything.

Who actually wants to give up their parental rights? I’ll never understand. I’m sorry you and your son are going through this but I can guarantee you that him coming in and out isn’t going to beneficial to your baby. It’s better if he decides to give up his rights now. As much as it hurts, your son can still have a great life without him.

He sounds very immature, but it’s in your child’s best interest for his father to be involved. I would try to take him to court to get an established visitation and child support order in place and go from there. If he continues to be a deadbeat, you will have it documented so you can get full custody, but still receive child support. You also have to grow up when it comes to your communication with him. If you understand the value of having a father for your child, then try to make it work. He sounds like a piece of crap, but you chose him. Maybe he will grow up and you two can co-parent.

While I think all parents should take care of their children I acknowledge that some parents make it hard for other parents to do so. Without hearing his side of the history I cannot say that he doesn't want to be a dad. If he is fathering a child that is not his biological child he obviously has it in him to be a dad, so the question is why isn't he caring for his biological child?? It seems that the two of you need to define your coparent relationship for the benefit of your son. I have custody of my daughter but her mom use to make things hard for me because I didn't want to be with her any more. Not saying that is the case with you. The two of you have to improve your communication and do what's in your son's best interest.

So it now. I know some states require children to have two parents legally like WI. As a step mother it kills me not having rights to my kids. Their bio mom does nothing for them and hurts them. Protect your babies

Just go to your lawyers office say he wants to terminate his rights your attorney will write up the papers baby daddy has to sign them and it’s done.
