child support

I'm 26 weeks along, my son's dad walked out the day after I found out I as pregnant(it was planned after several MC's) so when he walked out it was a shocker, anyways, I've been doing everything by myself thus far, preparing for my second son (his first child) and I just feel like he's notbgonna be there once my son is born and step up , however I'm preparing myself for him to not be there for my son. I texted him from a text app (he has my number blocked) and I've been trying to start a communication line for when my son is born, physical abuse has happened during my pregnancy, but nevertheless I still wanna try and let him be there for his son, so he can't say (she kept me from my son) but I can't force him to be a father to our son. everybody is saying I should consider putting him on child support, and I'm weighing more towards it, I texted him when I was 5 months along and told him if he's not gonna be there at all I would like him to sign over all rights to avoid a (revolving door) situation. I'm just stuck in a rut on what to consider. have him pay child support, or just wait and see what type of father he'll be to my son once he's born.
