I’ve been together for this guy for no longer than 3 months and he doesn’t trust me. I have nothing to hide on my messenger but like.. the other night he wanted to go through my messages and see them. I only said no because I have some personal messages to friends from when I was single. Like me asking them to hook me up w their friends and stuff. Ughhh I’m so tired.

I think it is never ok to read your partners messages.
“If you got nothing to hide then why not?” 
... if you trust your partner then what’s the point of reading them in the first place? 
A relationship without trust and respect isn’t worth sustaining.

If you know you got nothing to hide and he continues to ask, I say you ask to see his phone. I was in a toxic relationship and this was a huge issue so I had to end it. However maybe this might not be the case for you and he may just be super scared to lose you and/or is self conscious. In the end its your life, your choice!

Show him some and then say “see I have nothing to hide and if you want to read any more of these messages because you don’t trust me even though I have never done anything to cause you not to there is the door.  Feel free to walk out of it because I won’t be stopping you”.  That is what I would do. That is so disrespectful of him. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

No don’t. Set boundaries. Don’t go through his phone and he shouldn’t go through yours. Even though you two just started dating, respect needs to be neutral. If he gets upset because you say no, that does say a lot about his character... i mean, it’s just a phone.
