Dr. Or midwife???

CarrieH.

So I’m preparing for my seconds baby. Not pregnant yet but I really didn’t know what I was doing for my first so I decided to try and plan ahead some.

With my first, I did enough research to find an OB-GYN close by and that took my insurance. Everyone I met was very nice! And I liked it there for the most part. The only things I didn’t like was I didn’t know that I had no idea who I would get when I went into labor. So I saw Dr.s and midwifes. But at the beginning I always saw the same midwife. I liked her and thought I’d get her in the end. But prob a month before I had my daughter I found out I was supposed to meet everyone! Idk if I just missed that or they failed to inform me about that. So I ended up with a midwife I had never met from another office they had. So I had no chance of even meeting her. And she did not make a good first impression. She did not seem personal and told me I was going to be in labor for a long time cause I was still calm and smiling. When in reality about an hour after she said that I was already 7cm that was 12 hours into Labor. (I don’t show my pain to others that much. And I wouldn’t say it was the worst pain in the world but it hurt! And I was def feeling contractions since I when all natural)

So yeah I’m planning on finding a new office to go to this next time. So I was wondering what other mommas liked?

I prob should say... for my first baby I did have to go to a ultrasound specialist because of my husbands heart issues he had in the past. (He was born with 2 flaps on his aortic valve where normally you have 3. Not life threatening but they still wanted to know if she inherited it just Incase) so I expect to do the same for my next baby as well. So I would prefer to have a Dr. or a midwife. And to have the baby in a hospital.
