Pregnant and he doesn't seem excited?

I'm 10 weeks pregnant now and in the UK we don't get our first scan until 12/13 weeks. I feel like I can't get excited until I've heard my baby's heartbeat and now that he/she is developing normally. I'm just a bit worried and I'm considering getting an early scan to put my mind at ease. Just so I can see that I'm actually pregnant. My boyfriend doesn't think 3 weeks is long to wait, he also doesn't seem excited or like he wants to see/hear the baby as soon as possible. I also suggested an early gender test and he's not bothered at all. Any advice on how to handle this? I'm just feeling a bit upset due to my hormones and his reaction.
