My husband and I knew last summer that we were going to start trying for a baby in 2018. With the way our insurance works, according to his master financial spreadsheet, we hoped to conceive and deliver all in the same calendar year.
Unfortunately, it took us longer to conceive than we guessed it would. It was only 6 months total, and we know many couples try for much longer. But every month we became more discouraged. We became convinced that one of us was infertile and it would never happen.
Finally, the week before our 2 year anniversary I started getting suspicious. I had weird leg cramps, craved water like never before, I was tearing up at the smallest thing, and runnin hot when I normally run cold. My husband didn’t think this was enough evidence. I was supposed to get my period on our anniversary and I didn’t. But I also didn’t get a positive (or at least a strong positive test either.)
Two days later my boobs were so tender like I’ve never felt them before. I retested with a more sensitive test, and got a very strong positive.
We announced just to our parents on Father’s Day. We’re really bad secret keepers and needed someone else to know.
Now we’re just hoping for the best and hoping this pregnancy continues! Can’t wait for our first ultrasound ina couple weeks, and I can’t wait until when we can finally share the news with everyone!
