Bassinet help! I’m a FTM- we bought a Love n Care Guardian bassinet so we can have bub in our room. I made sure that it met the European standards for bassinets, but since we set it up, I’ve started panicking that it could be a suffocation risk. Thoughts?

Girl if you are already stressing about this get ready for some serious sleepless nights. When my first was born I wasn’t nervous like this before but after I would (we my husband too) watch her breathe and panic if she had been asleep too long. Go touch her to make sure she was still breathing. It wasn’t healthy. You are doing a great job being a mom already! The baby will be fine in this especially for the time before they can roll and while they are swaddled. He or she will never get close to the material you are questioning. Take some deep deep breaths!

I’m sure it’s fine for most babies, but my son has been active since day 1 and somehow he would manage to press his face against the side of his bassinet every night. I remember telling my husband how grateful I was to have a bassinet with mesh all the way around it (except a small part at the top and bottom) for that reason. We only had him in his bassinet for 2 months and he didn’t start rolling until 3 months, but he’d scoot and wiggle his body from the beginning and always slept with his head/face pressed against the mesh, even though we had him very snuggly wrapped in a Halo swaddle every night. The bassinet in this picture is strange because it has mesh, which is great, but the one part where there’s no mesh seems like the most dangerous spot because that’s where your baby’s face will be if they turn to the side. Like I said, it’s probably fine, especially if you have a normal baby who doesn’t wiggle all over the place, but I’d be a little concerned as well.

It’s probably fine... but, sometimes a little $$ if you can swing it, is worth the peace of mind. 
Try not to get too anxious! Easier said than done, I know.

Baby won't move at all my baby is 4 months n she's able to sleep in a bassinet that lays on my bed without rolling n if you swaddle the baby he'll be fine (: I swaddle my baby n if she wants her arms free she just moves them up lol

It looks okay. Babies don't stay in bassinets for very long. Generally they transition out by the time they learn to roll over. Swaddling with definitely help with rolling over. It also seems to be a thin material. While not mesh, it's still should be able to breathe through. Try shoving your face against it and breathing. You'll look silly for a few moments, but that should give you some piece of mind. The bassinet we use isn't mesh at all. Just a thin material.
