Muscus plug question..please help

Hi everyone,

Back story: At 35 weeks (so three weeks ago), I lost the majority of my mucus plug, and at that time there was a lot of it and it was brownish. I didn’t read too much into it though because it was a day after my first internal exam and my doctor was really rough down there, so I’m sure that’s why I lost it. I even had brownish spotting the next day.

Today though, at 38 weeks, it looks like I lost another part of it after feeling crazy pelvis pressure all morning, and this time it was not as much, and off-white in color. I’ve had a serious increase in BH these past four days, and had cramping so intense last night that it brought me to tears. My stomach is looking crazy low. I’ve been slowly dilating since 35 weeks, and have dilated a cm a week, so I was 3 cm dilated last Tuesday.

I guess what I’m wondering is, should I let myself get excited and hopeful this time? What was your experience with losing your mucus plug? I know everyone is different, but I just don’t know what to expect as a FTM. Thanks!
