nipple piercing

so I've had my piercings for a year now. I really want to get some cuter. but I also feel like my piercings haven't healed! I know some people say they never really do but I'm afraid lol. idk if maybe the barbells I have in now are too small or what! they were fine for a bit the. my husband started playing with them a bit more and they started getting crusty again and I started getting little pus filled bumps at the entries. so I restarted the after care process. ever since then I'll have my good and bad weeks.. idk if maybe the entries got stretched out and never healed. someone give me some insight!!!!!!!
