C-Section Lifesaver
For all of the pregnant ladies (or ladies who are considering becoming pregnant) I urge you to ask your doctor about the option of having an ON-Q pump placed if a c-section is deemed necessary for delivery. This device is placed immediately after surgery and administers a local anesthetic to the direct area of pain at a consistent rate for up to 4 days post surgery and is a life saver. I had very minimal pain, did not have to use any opioids and was released on day 2 (typical stay for c-section is 3-4 days) thanks to this device. I never had to take pain medication stronger than an 800 mg Ibuprofen and barely even noticed the device had been placed. I feel like I should put this information out there since it isn’t always offered by your doctor. If your doctor can get it, I highly recommend it!
