How long to eat?

How long does your baby nurse for. I breastfeed and bottle feed. On bottle she’ll drink from 2-3 oz but breastfeeding she’ll only eat for 5 mins. Would she be able to get 2-3 oz out of me in 5 mins or is she just not wanting to eat that much from breastfeeding?

If you have a forceful letdown it’s possible baby is getting a couple ounces, but they most likely aren’t getting the hind milk. Try pace feeding when using the bottle so it’s easier for the baby to go back and forth

My baby isn’t born yet so I don’t have first hand experience, but at my breastfeeding class they said if you’re trying to breast feed and bottle feed a baby that you should use slow flow nipples (designed for breastfed babies), and burp them about 3 times during the feeding to make it last longer. Bottle feeding requires less muscles and babies can fly through bottles with their strong mouth muscles they earned from breastfeeding - and sometimes babies don’t like going back to “all the effort” of breastfeeding if they have a regular flow nipple etc.
