Advice please

I started dating this guy a few months ago. We know each other ever since we were in 5th grade, started dating senior year in high school and we graduated together yesterday. We are both going to different colleges. The distance is not a problem. The problem is, is that I don’t trust this boy at all 😫 he’s known to be a player and I still decided to jump right in 🙄 he’s changed a lot for me. But since we are going to be apart for college, my self esteem is going wayyyy down. I don’t trust him at all. And my biggest fear is for him to cheat. He took my virginity 😭 I would hate for us to not work out. I don’t know what to do with these trust issues of mine 😭😭
