Progesterone supplement discontinued

Has anyone been put on oral progesterone 200mg for early pregnancy, and then told they can discontinue it? My Dr put me on it when I got my first positive, since I had a miscarriage at 5.5weeks prior to this pregnancy. Anyway, I had my blood drawn weekly to monitor it for the first trimester and then she said we stop monitoring it at time because the placenta takes over by then. She told me I can continue to take it if I want, or discontinue it. She said she has never had anyone loose a baby after discontinuing it after the first trimester, but I am hesitant. Torn is more like it, because it is quite expensive, but I’m a little afraid to stop taking it. I am 18weeks now. Thank you for any input!!
