My Son Will NOT Walk!!!!

My son is 11 months old and is terrified of walking. I fear that he will be a late walker like I was. I started walking when I was one years old and about five months and that’s a long time for me. he has long legs, very very tall he’s over 3 feet tall and if I even put him to the ground he starts screaming. So mommy’s tell me what age did your son or daughter start walking?? Please give me some advice on what to do to make him start or should I let him walk when he is ready??
