I don’t need her negativity

The A/C on my car has been blowing hot air, my husband knows nothing about cars but bless his heart he tried to look at it and figure out what was wrong to no avail.

So I called my mother to see if my stepdad would look at it for me over the weekend since he’s more mechanically inclined.

I told them what was going on and he said it might be my air compressor to which I responded,” I really hope not, we priced them and they run any where from $150 to $400.”

Simple innocent comment, to which my mother responds with,” well then maybe your husband doesn’t need to be trying to buy a motorcycle.”

This is exactly why I don’t tell her shit cause she always comes at me with so much attitude when she doesn’t even know the situation.

But I QUICKLY informed her that my husband was looking into buying a bike -FROM MY GRANDFATHER- because we could no longer afford his car and gave it back to the bank.

That we only have one car currently and he wants the bike to use as a work vehicle so I’m not sitting at home without a car.

To which she responds,” well what about when you go to work? What if there’s an emergency then husband won’t have a way to take SON to the hospital or anything with a motorcycle.”

(Which I understand and see her perspective)

So I said,” Our next door neighbor is a RN who is currently a SAHM, and one of our close friends.She’s ALWAYS home, and if something was to happen she’s less than 50 feet away. And if for some reason she’s not there we have 40 other neighbors.”

Her,” well it’s not hers or any one else’s responsibility.”

Me,” No it’s not but we can’t afford a second car right now.”

She then got quiet for about 2 minutes before telling me she’d call me in the morning 🙄🙄🙄

We have so much shit going on right now and I

just really don’t need her opinions or attitude at this point in time!!

Little extra info

1.) My Husband’s car was costing us $600 a month and was eating us alive

2.) My grandfather is selling the motorcycle for super cheap and is willing to let us make payments.

3.) When I say my neighbor is always home I mean Monday - Friday and most weekends she doesn’t leave her apartment. When she does leave it’s normally on Saturday to go grocery shopping, at which point I watch her toddler.

4.) I work night shifts and am off Friday -Sunday so I’d be home with the car even if my neighbor was gone.

5.) I didn’t make it public knowledge we were interested in the bike for this reason
