GBS positive?

So I went to my weekly ob appointment and she told me I tested positive for GBS. All she said is I have to be on antibiotics while I’m in labor and during delivery. But I have to clue what it means? Is it something I did wrong and could it be bad for my baby? Anyone else get told this??

had it with my first and again with this one. it's absolutely nothing you did wrong 1 in 4 women get it Durning pregnancy. when you go into labor they will put the antibiotics through your iv. it needs to be in your system 4 hours prior to delivering. I labored quickly and did not get it in time. we just had to stay an extra night so my son could be monitored. it's can be very serious if a baby contracts it and is not treated. my son ended up being perfectly fine.

From what my OB told me, it's not anything that you do or anything you can prevent. It's just something that some women carry. The only time it could affect the baby is during delivery, which the antibiotics will prevent. She talked like it wasn't a big deal, even if you are positive.
