I want to be married but live in a different house??

Question

So when I decide to join the married club. I want to live my own independent space from my husband. We would still be together but I want my own freedom. I see a lot of marriages where people lose theirselves in one another. I would not like to see that happen. What are your thoughts?? 
P.S. i would like opinions not judgement.

I personally wouldn’t ever for a single second be able to live separate to my fiancé or husband when we wed. I’m marrying him because I want to spend every day making a life and memories together. To me that’s my opinion

To me, that’s not a marriage. Sure there are times when couples will be apart for work and other things. But I really don’t see the point in getting married unless they are someone you want to work together with, build your life with, wake up with every day. 
What’s going to happen if you have kids? Will the kid live with you one week and your husband the next?? 
I have older friends who have been together for 20 years. They don’t live together because they like their own space too, but they aren’t married, because when you’re married, you live together. 
But hell, what do I know??? I think it’s weird when married people choose to sleep in seperate rooms unless it’s for health reasons, sleep disturbance or snoring.

My husband and I kind of have different "areas" of our apartment if we want a bit of privacy. That works well for us.

Honestly, as crazy as it sounds, I totally get what you mean. But in my opinion, I find having both way to expensive (at least for me, I live in LA, everything is expensive here)
I suggest maybe getting your own bedroom within the same household? Marriage is a promise, a commitment that involves compromise. If you and you’re partner are set on setting that personal space, by all means, don’t worry about what others say. I would personally worry more about finances and how to pay the extra apt/house/etc. That’s why I suggested the separate bedroom. 
At the end of the day, it’s your marriage. You both deserve happiness and respect, and if this happens to mean your own personal space, go for it!

I’m having a hard time seeing you actually wanting to do this. Why? Because none of your poll choices offer for it to be okay. If you actually wanted to do that you wouldn’t be questioning it. Marriage is about commitment and whatever is best for you and your spouse. This is something to talk to your SO about and for you to figure out. i guess it depends on how in love & close you are to your spouse. I’d want to be with my husband everyday & sleep in the same bed with him finally, shower together, enjoy break fast together. If you trust them that much go for it

i dont personally understand it. living with my SO means improving our living situation because we live in an expensive area and prefer to be together. when we need space, we give each other space or go do things apart from each other. it just seems like a waste of money to me, personally. if we really need a lot of space, id rather us just get a bigger house. how would it work out for you? i would like to know how being married is important but not being with each other.

You're probably the healthiest person on this app, yes it is always better to be independent before getting married, having something to fall back on is always a good idea, you're right I agree most people lose themselves in a marriage and then when things fall apart one of them doesn't have something to fall back onto like a home or a skill or a job or a qualification... going to university, get qualified, be independent, and do it all by yourself BEFORE getting married 👍
