TTC 28 and clueless

My husband and I were together for 7 years before we got married and have been married for 4 years. We decided two months ago to TTC but I feel completely clueless. I stopped birth control 5 months ago to start regulating everything again. I started birth control when I was 17 to regulate my period so I didn’t get it when I was playing volleyball in college and beyond. I have been all over the place with my cycle. I feel like all I have been taught is how to not get pregnant. So now we are trying and we feel like morons. I have no clue when I’m ovulating or when to BD. My cycle still hasn’t evened out. I have never ever had a normal cycle. It is either 3 days or 27 days with either two weeks or six months between cycles. I feel like my body has always been fighting me. Has anyone else been in this situation? Have you been able to get pregnant?
