Have you been through potty training?

Question

If so, what did you use that worked for your family or was really terrible?
I think we will go with something like this, but I’m curious to know what people actually use.

I’m super grossed out by the separate polities and cleaning that out. I don’t mind diapers at all, but cleaning out a separate toilet disgusts me 😵 I clean enough real toilets and that’s bad enough 😅😅

I always felt that pushing it too early doesn’t work for most and it just prolong the process. I say wait until they are ready, a good sign of that is when they start having dry diapers throughout the night. But not everything That works for one person will work for another. I used to let my kids be naked at home when we were training and that seem to work well for us we also gave rewards

We have the toilet seat you posted and I love it. We originally started with the small Minnie Mouse potty and I was ok cleaning out the pee, but poop no fricken way 🤮 we had sticker charts and would just clap and smile and be super excited. She didn’t potty train until she was 3 but that’s when it worked for her. I tried on and off starting at 1.5 and nothing worked. Finally she was ready on her own. Biggest thing was the dry diapers at night and then we knew she could handle it but she didn’t last long on the small training potty. We moved her to this toilet seat pretty quick and it’s great! I will say if she doesn’t sit far enough back on it though her pee goes all over the two seats and the actual toilet 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄

My son thought a potty was a toy so i just got a potty seat

Which you can buy at Walmart if you like but its comfortable and its cute and my son loves it.

I used this for my daughter it works really well and when they get big enough you can take the little one off and it’s just a regular seat. When I was potty training my daughter I made her a potty chart with her favorite character(found some stickers) it was on a poster board.  Then I made a graph i between the stickers and got small stickers to put in the grid.  One sticker for pee, two stickers for number 2. It helped her to see her progress and be consistent

My son blatently refuses to potty train. He gets it just refuses to go on the toilet. Waiting until after this baby comes to really hit it hard on that front

I got my daughter a potty, used positive reinforcement, like hi-fives and you did it’s. Lots of I’m super proud of you’s. When I saw she was going I moved her to her potty. It took a few months, but she did it.
