Still not disappointed.
I posted on here a few days ago about knowing that my boyfriend was about to propose to me on our anniversary because he asked my ring size. We live in Indiana but took a road trip to Iowa to pick up his cousin to bring her back to Indiana for a week.
So his plans were to take me fishing on the Mississippi River and propose there but that’s what happened. Lol.
We stayed at his aunts house so we didn’t have to get a hotel room but she ended up giving us a curfew of 11 pm. (We are both 27 🙄 but respected her wishes. She was generous enough to let us stay). So taking time to visit other family took up most of our time.
So with the curfew, then also finding out it was pretty expensive to get a non residential fishing license, his plans were already ruined. So he was just going to take me to the Mississippi River and propose.
But then a storm came in. So we decided to go to Applebee’s for dinner and didn’t have enough time to make it back to the river before curfew. The rain also wouldn’t let up.
So in the end, he ended up proposing to me in our car, in Applebee’s parking lot during a thunderstorm
I could tell during dinner that he wanted to propose inside because he was so nervous but the environment wasn’t right. I could feel his whole body trembling while we sat in the car and he stuttered a lot and he’s usually a very confident man.
But after telling me how much he loved me and apologizing for anything bad he could’ve ever possibly have done to me and going over our entire last years memories with me, he finally spit the words out.
I said of course with tears in my eyes and shocked at how difficult this was for him to do. We are expecting a little girl in October and the love I feel for this man is so unreal. He’s helping me raise my 2 boys and has taken care of us anyway he can. I couldn’t be happier 💜
