Should I go?

Question

I am 15 in grade 10. I’m 80 days I am suppose to be going on a school trip to Italy - Venice, Rome and Florence 
It’s for three weeks grades 10-12. I got to an all girls school though our brother school is also coming. There is 5 girl going and about 15 guys. I am the only girl in grade 10 going. I am a very social person although I don’t know the two girls in grade 11 and the two girls in grade 12. They are both friends. 
Problem is i have anxiety, ocd and mild depression. I’m really anxious to go because I will be away from family and friends for three weeks and Italy is a long way away from Australia. It’s a 20 hour flight or more...
I don’t know if I can go, but I feel bad because it was around $7000 in total which is expensive and I am beyond greatful for the opportunity. I just worry that I will get there and want to come home. I go to school and some days I get picked up early because I have thoughts which are so overwhelming from my OCD and anxiety. 
My question is: do I go or do I not?

Hey this is the trip of a lifetime! Kick OCD and Anxiety in the Ass! They are all high schoolers just like you and you should get along with them just fine. Heck even the boys will probably be fun to befriend! Tho if I can tell you anything. GO! Don’t let anxiety take over and make you miss this opportunity. The world is beautiful and you should see it!
Try to stay calm and maybe bring some music in case you need to take a breather. You’ll be able to relax at the hotel and get a good nights rest.

YOU SHOULD GO!!! 
I’m going to Spain for a week next year and I’m nervous too. I know a couple people who are going which is good, and we room in pairs so I won’t be alone which is also good. I know it’s really nerve wracking thinking about being that far away, but for me, if I have a plan or keep organized it always calms me down. (To be clear I’m not mentally ill, I just get nervous and have had a couple panic attacks)
Here are a few things I hope can help you:
1. Definetly try and share a room with some of the girls. Even if you don’t know each other too well you guys will get close after a couple days with each other. You say you’re pretty social which will also be good, I’m sure these girls would love to have another friend around.
2. Bring a care kit of sorts. Take a small box and put in any kind of calming, things that you have. Anything special to you, that will remind you of home or make you feel safe. For me this would be something like a little stuffed animal, extra headphones or a mega pack of my fave gum.
Those are my tips, I hope that you go on this trip and I’m sure you will have lots of fun!!

I say go!! I’m 14 I have not been diagnosed with Anxiety but I can tell you I get anxious about being far away from my family and I would be feeling the same as you! But this is a great opportunity for you, the world is a great and amazing place! And who knows maybe all those people going even if there older than you could become your friends!
My advice would be bring something that comforts you wether it’s a blanket a song a pillow anything that comforts you! And what really helps me is Lavender oil it really calms you and if you guys are out and about and you start to have a panic attack just simply go to the washroom and breath! FaceTime you family if needed at nigh-time!!! I hope this helped you:)

This is a trip of a lifetime! Definitely go! And just call your parents as much as you can when you have WiFi (overseas you don’t have any data). Ask a friend to go with you. Besides, im sure the 11th graders or 12th graders will be nice. Also, maybe some 10th grader boys are going and you can make friends with them. It will be so fun and worth it!

As a person with similar struggles, I know how hard this decision could be. But don't let this be another amazing opportunity you missed out on because of your anxiety/ocd (if you're anything like me, there have been other opportunities). This trip may be hard at times, but I think the good will definitely outweigh the bad. PLEASE update after the trip. I wanna see how it went.

I think u should try to go! Get to know some of the older girls now so u can be acquainted with them by the time you actually go on the trip! I’ve heard of a tip you can use when having an anxiety attack( from the internet, I’m 15 so def not a professional lol) but it’s called grounding:find 5 things you can see,4 things you can touch, 3 things you can smell,2 things you can touch,and 1 thing you can taste. I really hope this helps for you to feel at calm and I just want you to remember that if you absolutely feel like you can’t do it then don’t push yourself and the things you are able to do are valid.
