Break up and hope or move on
My long-distance relationship just ended two days ago and it was out of the blue. We were together for 9 months and we would see each other once a month for a couple of days. He broke up with me because of the fighting distance and stress was just a lot for him right now. The last couple times we visited each other we would have little things turn in the big fights. He told me he loves me and never wanted to hurt me in any way but that he doesn't know if it was meant to be. He then tells me on text and phone that he doesn't want to lose me all together and not stop talking to me. I asked him if we would never be together again and he said probably not anytime soon and who knows that later down the road we might reconnect. He then said he wants to help me through this as a friend and is cool with texting and snapping. On the phone, he said he would text me a couple times in the day. The day after the breakup I was honestly not expecting to hear from him and he texted me in the morning have a great day! I replied and got no response. I am so lost and I'm gonna try the no contact but I'm afraid he will not miss me and move on. Everyone I have talked to about it says it doesn't sound like he is done or wants to be done with you. I wanna have hope that we might someday get back together but I also should move on so I don't get hurt when he does. Please if you have any advice as if I should try the no contact rule. For how long since we didn't date for a year. or if I should just move on. Be honest
